Couldn’t be easier This is the third set of these that we have owned. The first set was included with the hammock. We leave ours up all the time and with sun and weather exposure they will weaken and become brittle due to UV damage over the course of a few years. We could take them down after each use, but we’d rather go at it the other way and replace them periodically. I also use one of these to suspend an over-sized Christmas wreath in mid-air from a heavy beam on the craftsman style pergola on our front…

We have had this item for a week now and are using it to support our Outer Banks rope hammock. The hammock is 65″ wide, with an 84″ (7 foot) bed. Overall length is 13 ½ feet. We installed the hugger on our two trees and I take our hammock in at night, but we leave the Tree Hugger outside. It has been through rain storms and so far we have not had to adjust it for stretching etc.. It has held up the weight of two adults without slipping down the tree trunk or stretching.
