Does not support 400 lbs. We were in the hammock this past Sunday and the strap came unsewn causing us to fall. I have a bruised tailbone and my boyfriend has a bruised shoulder. Our combined weight is about 260lbs and the straps are supposed to support 400lbs.

Adequate, gets the job done. Tried these out with a Junglenest Hammock by ENO. I tossed the S-hooks, they are probably not the most secure way to mount a hammock to a tree strap, and they just add weight. Instead, I threaded them through the included D-ring around the tree, and then tied a knot to which I could fasten a carabiner. They held my weight, approx. 190 lbs, and did what they were supposed to do. My only complaint is that these are made of Nylon, which did stretch a little after sitting in the hammock,…

Straps are very thick nice material I recently bough a hammock that came with rope to tie up the hammock. It was just rope. There was no way I was going to feel secure that my rope tying skills are going to support everybody. Especially in a 2 person hammock. I got these and the strips are made out of some material similar to seat belt straps. They are very thick and strong.
