NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, works together with talented artisan designers around the world to produce stunning, keepsake treasures. Our mantra is to spread global happiness, so rest assured – we’ll do everything we possibly can to ensure you’re a happy customer. About this item: The serene blues of the Mexican Caribbean are repeated in a hand-woven hammock. It invites a blissful afternoon with a pitcher of iced tea and a good book. Maya Artists of the Yucatán create it in the same way they have for centuries. Long before the Spanish arrived upon the coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Maya preferred to sleep and rest in hammocks. They considered the hammock to be like the loving embrace of a mother, due to the comfortable manner in which the body is held and swung within its cradle. Maya Artists of the Yucatan seek to preserve time-honored customs while also offering stylized versions of the original Maya hammock. For them, the hammock is a work of art. Their hammocks are incredibly comfortable, easy to maintain, and may be stored just about anywhere. It easily packs for travel to the beach or lake. Extender ropes (measuring 1 meter), hammock hooks (“S” hooks), and step-by-step instructions included for easy installation. NOTE: Because each is woven individually by hand, measurements may vary by as much as ten centimeters. There may be slight color variations from hammock to hammock. If a stand is preferred, one of about 10ft is recommended. Highly recommend it! I absolutely love it! This one was far above the price range I had set when looking for a hammock, but boy am I glad I splurged! It is so extremely comfortable. I haven’t ever sat in one as relaxing as this hammock is. The material and the pattern it is woven into make it very comfortable. If you have a budget, spend a little more and buy it. Definitely worth every penny. I have mine on a 9 foot stand. Although I had to figure out how to hang it to make it lay properly, since it really needed a…

Awesome hammock! Wow! This is a great hammock if you are looking for a traditional Mayan style hammock. This is just like the ones we laid on when we were in Cancun. We have this attached to a 15 foot stand with the included ropes. Quality is great. It looks well made and holds up well to full grown adults and a 3 year old. Even with 3 of us on there there is still plenty of room! We’ve only had this for about 3 weeks but we’eve spent plenty of time on it! We got it in the blue color and it looks…

Delighted This hammock is comfortable and has bright, vivid colors. The open weave is cool and comfortable and the nylon material is durable. It comes packaged with instructions, S hooks bigger than my hardware store stocks and rope for proper hanging although tree straps or additional rope is still needed. Overall a great package. After hanging a got in it to try it out and slept for two hours. I didn’t even know I was tired. They weave does snag the buttons on my back pockets the easiest…
